Truck Driver - Class 1

Job Summary We are seeking a safety-conscious Truck Driver – Class 1 to transport freight reliably and professionally. The role involves operating commercial vehicles, completing required inspections and records, and handling freight safely at pickup and delivery locations. This position is suited to a dependable driver who follows regulations, communicates clearly, and takes care of equipment. Forklift or heavy equipment experience is an asset. Duties Operate a Class 1 commercial vehicle to transport freight along assigned routes and schedules. Secure, load, unload, and verify freight; operate a forklift when qualified and authorized. Complete pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections, and report defects or safety concerns promptly. Maintain accurate trip, delivery, and vehicle inspection records. Follow applicable traffic laws, hours-of-service requirements, site procedures, and safe cargo-handling practices. Communicate professionally with dispatch, customers, and receiving staff regarding deliveries or route changes. Keep the vehicle clean and in good working order; identify maintenance needs and perform basic checks or minor automotive repairs when appropriate. Operate heavy equipment only when trained, authorized, and required for the work. Experience Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s licence and a driving record that meets applicable requirements. Previous commercial driving and freight transportation experience preferred. Experience with heavy equipment operation and basic automotive repair is an advantage. Ability to complete vehicle inspections, handle freight safely, follow written and verbal instructions, and work independently. Strong safety awareness, reliability, and professional communication skills. Pay: $20.87-$37.01 per hour Work Location: In person
