Truck Driver - CDL A
Glen-Gery CorporationGlen Gery has a new opportunity for an experienced Truck Driver based at our Lawrenceville, VA plant. This role includes local deliveries throughout Virginia and North Carolina, over-the-road (OTR) transportation, and supporting Glen-Gery manufacturing operations by transferring products, plant materials, equipment, and parts between company locations and suppliers as needed. The position also assists with forklift operation, loading and unloading materials, inventory management, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Make local and OTR deliveries in a safe, timely, and professional manner. Load and unload inbound and outbound orders. Operate forklifts, Moffett/truck-mounted forklifts, and other powered industrial equipment safely and efficiently. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns. Assist with inventory control, cycle counts, and month-end physical inventories. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard and warehouse environment. Follow all company safety policies, DOT regulations, and operating procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. Ability to operate delivery vehicles and heavy yard equipment safely and effectively. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks. Knowledge of building products, proper storage, handling, and transportation methods preferred. Strong commitment to workplace safety. Ability to lift up to 80 pounds. Ability and willingness to travel overnight as required. QUALIFICATIONS: CDL Class A license required. Moffett/truck-mounted forklift experience preferred. One to two years of material handling, delivery, or transportation experience, preferably within the building products industry. Clean driving record and ability to meet DOT requirements. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
