Overview Join our dynamic team as a Truck Driver and take on an exciting role that keeps the wheels turning! In this position, you will be responsible for safely operating a commerical truck to transport freight across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries and adherence to all safety and regulatory standards. Your expertise in handling different types of cargo, including refrigerated goods, hazardous materials, and specialty loads like flatbeds or tankers, will be vital to our success. Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles on over-the-road (OTR) routes, adhering strictly to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques and a pallet jack when necessary, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transit. Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to meet delivery schedules while optimizing fuel consumption and route planning. Transport a variety of cargo types, including refrigerated goods, hazardous materials (hazmat), dangerous goods, flatbed loads, or tankers, following all hazardous materials regulations. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking brakes, tires, lights, and securing cargo before departure. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, inspections, and any incidents in compliance with FMCSA regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues encountered during transit. Qualifications Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on route driving and delivery driving. Valid driver’s license (DL) with preffered experience relevant to the cargo type (e.g., hazmat endorsement if applicable). Demonstrated ability to operate manual transmission trucks safely and efficiently. Knowledge of truck loading and unloading procedures as well as logistics cargo handling techniques. Familiarity with refrigerated trailer operation and automobile transportation is preferred. Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for dangerous goods. Ability to handle manual handling tasks safely while maintaining close attention to detail during load & unload processes.
