In this energetic role, you will operate various types of commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers, to ensure timely and safe delivery of freight across regional and over-the-road (OTR) routes. Duties Safely operate different types of trucks such as tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers to transport freight over long distances or local routes. Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques or equipment like forklifts, ensuring proper securing of hazardous or dangerous goods according to hazardous materials regulations. Navigate efficiently using GPS systems to follow designated routes while optimizing delivery schedules and maintaining compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations. Transport various types of freight including refrigerated goods, automobile transportation units, hazardous materials, and other logistics cargo handling tasks. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking load securement, fluid levels, tires, brakes, and compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Maintain accurate documentation for deliveries, pickups, load & unload logs, and incident reports in accordance with DOT and hazardous materials regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or any issues encountered during transit. Qualifications Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on route driving and delivery driving. Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the type of vehicle operated (e.g., Hazmat endorsement if applicable). Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for truck driving. Experience operating manual transmission trucks and familiarity with manual handling techniques for cargo loading/unloading. Ability to operate GPS navigation systems efficiently for route planning and execution. Skilled in logistics cargo handling including freight loading/unloading on flatbeds or roll-off trucks. Certification or experience in forklift operation is a plus; experience with dump trucks or tanker trucks is advantageous.
