Responsibilities Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers, across over-the-road (OTR) routes. Load and unload freight with manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transport. Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery schedules and ensure timely arrivals. Transport hazardous materials (hazmat) and dangerous goods following all Hazardous Materials Regulations (Hazmat regulations) and Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines. Comply with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations at all times during operations. Manage logistics cargo handling efficiently, including freight inspection, documentation, and proper load securing procedures. Load & unload trucks accurately, ensuring proper weight distribution and adherence to safety standards. Drive various types of trucks such as refrigerated trailers for perishable goods or tanker trucks for liquids, maintaining vehicle cleanliness and safety checks. Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, inspections, deliveries, and incidents in accordance with FMCSA regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to confirm delivery details and resolve issues promptly. Experience Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on route driving or delivery driving. Familiarity with refrigerated trailer operations and automobile transportation is highly desirable. Experience handling freight involving hazardous materials or dangerous goods is preferred. Strong knowledge of truck loading/unloading procedures and logistics cargo handling practices. Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the type of vehicle operated (e.g., Hazmat endorsement). Demonstrated ability to operate manual transmission trucks safely and efficiently. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazard materials regulations, and safety compliance standards related to trucking operations.
