POSITION SUMMARY: The position will work with and assist the Maintenance Department by completing various truck driving tasks on job sites. This position will also be tasked with snow removal on roadways within the community. The Truck Driver will meet academic and professional qualifications, demonstrate dedication to excellent service, and support the mission and objectives of Bay Mills Indian Community. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Drives truck to transport materials to and from the job site. 2. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. 3. Responsible for wearing all provided safety equipment and abiding by all safety instructions for the use of equipment. 4. Must work independently to complete many tasks but also must be able to work effectively within a team. 5. Must comply with local traffic regulations and ordinances and maintain safety at all times. 6. Inspects equipment with appropriate levels of gas, oil, and water before departure. 7. Required to report to work as needed, which will include weekends and holidays when necessary. 8. Other duties may be assigned within the scope and complexity of this position’s essential functions. This will include working as a Maintenance Tech for the department when deemed necessary. 9. Must attend all mandatory trainings designated by the Human Resources Department and/or Department Director. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk and stand with occasional sitting. Occasionally the employee must squat, crawl, crouch, and kneel with frequent bending, climbing, balancing, and push/pulling. The employee is occasionally required to use hands for firm manipulation and reach with hands and arms above shoulder level. The employee must frequently lift, push, haul and/or move up to 100 pounds. The employee is regularly exposed to heights, moving machinery, driving automotive equipment, outdoor working conditions, marked changes in temperature and humidity, dust, fumes, and gases. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 1. Must be 18 years of age or older. 2. Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable to drive: CDL, Class A preferred, Class B endorsement required. 3. Must have an excellent driving record. 4. Must have six months of experience operating a loading truck. 5. Must be able to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends. 6. Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. 7. Knowledge of building, site, pipe laying, and sewer-type construction is preferred. 8. Must have an excellent attendance record and past work history. 9. Must possess a personable, customer service attitude along with organizational ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. 10. Must present a well-groomed, professional appearance and speak, understand, and write in the English language. 11. Must be able to get along with, and work well with others. 12. To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each function listed under the essential functions and physical demands categories of this position description.
