In this energetic role, you will operate a variety of commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, to ensure timely and safe delivery of freight across diverse routes. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers and other commercial trucks on over-the-road (OTR) routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards Load, secure, transport, and unload freight, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and hazardous materials (Hazmat), following all safety protocols for dangerous goods Use GPS navigation systems to plan efficient routes and adapt to changing traffic conditions for timely deliveries Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking manual transmissions, brakes, lights, and cargo securement Load and unload cargo with manual handling techniques or forklift assistance when necessary, ensuring proper logistics cargo handling procedures are followed Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports in accordance with regulatory requirements Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly Qualifications Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving in various environments Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements for Hazmat and tanker loads preferred; a clean driving record is essential Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and automobile transportation is highly desirable Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, Hazardous Materials Regulations, DOT regulations, and hazard communication standards Ability to operate manual transmissions confidently and perform manual handling tasks safely Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling procedures for freight security during loading/unloading processes Excellent navigation skills using GPS systems; ability to plan efficient routes for long-distance OTR driving routes Physical capability to handle heavy loads safely; good communication skills; commitment to safety standards at all times Embark on a rewarding career where your driving expertise makes a real impact!
