SUMMARY: The Transportation Supervisor oversees daily transportation operations while managing a variety of administrative responsibilities. 


 JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Supervises daily transportation activities, including scheduling routing and dispatching of vehicles
  • Supervises and coaches' dispatchers on routine procedures.
  • Coordinate with logistics, warehouse, and customer service teams to meet delivery deadlines and optimize supply chain efficiency
  • Coordinate with the Transportation Manager on driver performance, ensuring compliance with company policies and safety standards
  • Manages the driver’s schedule and edits as needed
  • Monitors attendance of all drivers, point of contact for attendance 10pm-6am.
  • Coordinate with the DOT Compliance Specialist on all safety and compliance
  • Reviews Daily Route Reports for all drivers. 
  • Handles administrative duties such as master schedule editing, file maintenance, accident and injury reports, reviewing violations, etc.
  • Coordinates with drivers on trainings or attendance documentation needed 
  • Monitors all trucks for equipment issues with pallet jacks (electric and pump), hand trucks and fuel 
  • Manages vehicle maintenance schedules and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime 
  • Leads growth of third Party Backhaul business.
  • On call as necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

SCHEDULE: 

Tuesday-Saturday 10pm-6am

Requirements

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: College degree (preferred) or equivalent transportation experience, 2 years’ management experience (preferred).  

TRAINING, SKILLS, LICENSES: Proven experience is transportation management or supervision. Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards. Excellent communication and organization skills. Proficiency in transportation management software and MS Office Suite. Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS: This position is located in an office environment with moderate to low noise levels and is typically sedentary. Daily use of a computer and phone system is necessary as well as interaction with staff, customers, and vendors.
