Transportation Supervisor – Delivery Operations Location: Selma, NC, US Employment Type: Full-time Work Model: On-site Schedule: Non-traditional hours including evenings, nights, weekends, holidays and on-call coverage Overview Transportation Supervisor responsible for daily delivery operations, driver supervision, safety, regulatory compliance, scheduling and delivery performance. The role leads Delivery Associates, manages labour and resources, monitors productivity and supports continuous improvement across transportation operations. Key Responsibilities Supervise daily delivery operations, driver performance, safety and adherence to planned routes. Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA and other federal, state and local regulations. Maintain accurate electronic driver logs and transportation records. Manage labour hours, supplies and operating resources within budget. Develop delivery schedules, shifts and additional coverage as required. Coordinate vehicle and equipment utilisation, repairs and maintenance. Monitor delivery productivity, performance metrics and operational reporting. Identify efficiency improvements and cost-reduction opportunities. Train and enforce safety, food safety, regulatory and company procedures. Partner with Sales and Operations teams to resolve delivery and customer issues. Visit customer locations to assess delivery challenges and service requirements. Lead pre-shift meetings and maintain regular communication with drivers. Support driver engagement, performance management, development and retention. Partner with Safety teams on training, inspections, accident investigations and root-cause analysis. Support recruitment, performance reviews, disciplinary actions and other people-management activities. Requirements High school diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience. 1–3 years of transportation, delivery, logistics or related experience. Strong knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. Ability to lead teams, manage schedules and make independent operational decisions. Strong problem-solving, communication and organisational skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, spreadsheets and business systems. Ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven, customer-focused environment. Valid Class A CDL meeting company standards preferred. HazMat certification preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or related field preferred.
