Transportation Specialist

Overview Under the guidance of the Market/Transport Supervisor and the Support Services Administrator, the Transportation Specialist demonstrates consistent professionalism, courtesy and efficiency while picking up and delivering Cempa Community Care clients to and from destinations according to a pre-arranged schedule or on an as-needed basis as directed by organizational needs. Education and Experience Required ● High School diploma or equivalent qualification ● Valid driver's license with clean DMV record ● Excellent driving skills ● Ability to lift to 50lbs ● Friendly & professional ● Must pass a criminal background check, regular drug and alcohol screenings ● Ability to operate a GPS, smartphone, mobile tablet, and trip management application ● Must be 25 years of age or older due to insurance purposes ● Able to obtain and retain Defensive Training Course, Passenger Service and Safety (PASS) Courses Education and Experience Preferences ● CPR and First Aid certification a plus. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (includes, but not limited to): ● Minimally assists passengers on and off the vehicle. Assist clients with loading and unloading belongings as needed. ● Follows the schedule given each day. Follows any special request for transportation when given, determines patient equipment requirements, checks road conditions, and estimates travel times. ● Prepares the vehicle by conducting routine maintenance, inspects vehicle before and after each shift, cleaning interior and exterior, arrange for maintenance, and report operating problems. ● Fulfills special requests by picking up and delivering items, such as food boxes and medications. ● Maintains HIPAA compliance. ● Documents actions by completing mileage logs and maintenance records clearly and accurately. ● Adheres to transportation and company policies by completing related reports as needed. ● Responsible for following all laws regarding the use of motor vehicles & safety procedures. ● Enhances job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities. ● Responsible use of the fuel card, maintains all transaction receipts, and submits fuel receipts to the Market/ Transport Supervisor within 24 hours of transaction. ● Assist Market/Transport Supervisor with front desk coverage, as needed. ● Assist Market with picking up and transporting food orders, as needed. ● Perform other duties as assigned.
