Transportation Inventory Control Manager
Cabarrus County SchoolsNon-Exempt General Definition of Work Supervise the purchase and distribution of parts, tires, fuel and fluid. Supervise the entry of data related to all facets of stock usage within the transportation department and other supported departments. Supervise dispatch and activity bus planning/billing within the transportation department. Education and Experience High school diploma or GED and five years progressive job experience, and /or equivalent in combination of education and work experience. Salary Pay Grade NC10 Reports to Director of Transportation Essential Functions Research, ID and locate needed vehicle parts using web sites and parts manuals. ID appropriate vendor to secure those parts from Coordinate recall campaigns with vendors Prepare and submit purchase requisitions using LINQ. Coordinate the repair and inspection of shop equipment with vendors. Coordinate camera repair Coordinate specialty vehicle repairs by outside vendors. Maintain stock of Diesel, gas and all other fluids. Ensure purchase orders are in place to ensure parts can be ordered. Maintain the fueling stations at transportation and facilities. Prepare and coordinate the annual physical inventory. Supervise the preparation of the TD-1. Coordinate the sale of scrap tires, metal, antifreeze, and oil. Generate state reports for the sale of these items. Creates spreadsheets needed to track expenses. Maintain MSDS book to ensure OSHA compliance. All other duties as requested by Transportation Director or supervisor. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities General knowledge and experience with the entire Microsoft Suite including Word/Office, Excel, and PowerPoint. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel Passing a skills test on Microsoft Excel Ability to create tables, spreadsheets, and publishing formats Ability to work independently without close supervision. Ability to understand and follow detailed, written and oral instructions. General knowledge of standard office procedures, practices and equipment. Ability to learn specialized equipment and software based on district needs. Ability to develop and present ideas effectively, orally and in written form. Ability to maintain financial records and prepare financial reports. Ability to meet all deadlines in a fast-paced environment by organizing and prioritizing tasks. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, staff and the general public. Physical Requirements This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds of force. Work regularly requires sitting, speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel and repetitive motions and occasionally requires standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, pushing or pulling and lifting. Work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly or quickly; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels. Work requires visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, operating machines, Work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operating machines, operating equipment and observing general surroundings and activities; work occasionally requires exposure to fumes or airborne particles, exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals and exposure to outdoor weather conditions; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).
