The West Virginia Division of Highways (WVDOH) is seeking a dynamic, vision-driven Transportation Engineer 4 to serve as a high-level technical expert and leader across our District operations. As a Transportation Engineer 4, you won't just oversee projects—you will lead key district operational areas. You will play an active role in shaping state infrastructure, signing and sealing high-visibility engineering deliverables, and solving complex real-world engineering challenges. This position will report to the District 9 Headquarters in Greenbrier County. Minimum Qualifications **Preference may be given to Candidates with these qualifications** TRAINING/EDUCATION Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of West Virginia (or licensed in another state with the ability to obtain WV P.E. registration by comity within 6 months of hire) Bachelor’s degree in civil, electrical, mechanical, industrial, petroleum, mining, environmental, engineering technology, or a related engineering field from an ABET-accredited program. Note: For the training/education, the qualifying degree must be verified before the employee may be considered for employment. Please attach a degree transcript or diploma to the application. EXPERIENCE Seven + (7) years of progressive, professional civil engineering experience. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT Travel may be required; therefore, a valid driver’s license is required. Preferred experience: At least three (3) years of post-licensure experience performing complex design/construction management or supervisory engineering duties.
