Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Transportation Driver/Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide safe and reliable transportation for individuals with diverse needs. This role combines driving responsibilities with direct support duties, ensuring passengers’ safety, comfort, and well-being during transit. Duties Safely operate various vehicles including vans, transit buses, or school buses in accordance with traffic laws and transportation safety regulations Assist passengers with wheelchair assistance and ensure proper use of safety restraints Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly and courteously with passengers and their families Follow emergency response procedures for transportation incidents and perform quick responses to traffic changes or hazards Conduct vehicle inspections before and after trips, including checking for vehicle codes compliance and heavy lifting requirements Maintain accurate logs of trips, passenger information, and incident reports in accordance with school policy knowledge and state regulations Support behavior management strategies when working with children or individuals requiring additional support during transit Experience Proven experience in bus driving, commercial driving, or transit bus operation Prior work experience working with children or individuals requiring personal assistance or childcare support is preferred Knowledge of traffic laws, defensive driving techniques, emergency stop procedures, and transportation safety regulations is essential Multilingual skills are a plus for effective communication with diverse populations Demonstrated ability to handle heavy lifting safely and perform vehicle maintenance checks as needed Strong communication skills combined with patience and empathy to foster positive interactions with passengers of all ages Join us in making a difference by providing safe transportation that promotes independence and dignity.
