Transportation Driver/CNA
North Platte Valley Medical Center**The starting wage for this role is based upon years of experience** Performance Requirements: The transportation driver would need to cover the hours of 8-5 M-F with flexibility. They will be responsible for assisting patients to and from appointments within their scheduled times. This role will also be cross trained in our departments onsite to allow this role to pick up shifts when needed. This means training as a floor CNA, but the primary role will be for our transportation of patients and residents. Essential Job Functions Positive and clear communication with patients and their family members if applicable. Safely pick up and deliver patients to/from medical facilities, clinics, or within the hospital Help patients with mobility needs, including boarding/discharging, using wheelchair lifts, stretchers, or other accessibility equipment as necessary Operate designated transport vehicles (e.g., vans) in compliance with traffic laws and company policies. Ensure patient safety, comfort, and dignity during transport; monitor for emergencies and provide basic first aid if needed. Perform routine checks, keep vehicles clean and sanitized, and report maintenance issues Maintain accurate records of pick-up/drop-off times, mileage, incidents, and patient transport details for billing and compliance Communicate with healthcare staff, scheduling departments, and families regarding patient needs and transport arrangements Follow HIPAA privacy rules, health and safety regulations, and facility protocols Good knowledge of local routes and traffic patterns Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays if applicable. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, perform overhead lifting, and perform other common physical movements as needed for the position. Subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, and/or conditions which include AIDS, Hepatitis B, and Tuberculosis. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions. Subject to frequent interruptions. Communicates with medical and nursing staff, and other departments. Monday-Friday- shifts will vary depending upon need.
