Your experience may come from: Fleet operations Dispatch Safety / DOT compliance Driver management Recruiting Brokerage Maintenance Transportation technology Fleet sales Terminal management Operations management You don't need to be a traditional salesperson. We're looking for someone who understands transportation, communicates well, builds relationships, and wants to use their industry experience to help trucking companies improve. You should be comfortable speaking with everyone from drivers and dispatchers to owners and executives of large fleets. What You'll Do Build relationships with trucking company owners and executives Prospect and develop new fleet opportunities throughout Arizona Visit trucking companies and learn how their operations work Understand operational challenges and identify opportunities for improvement Identify issues involving operations, safety, recruiting, maintenance, technology, and leadership Introduce appropriate WIG and LOS solutions Maintain disciplined CRM activity and follow-up Participate in operational assessments with the consulting team Work with WIG leadership on client strategy Help develop relationships into long-term advisory and service partnerships Gradually take on more responsibility in client strategy and consulting engagements The Long-Term Opportunity This is not designed to be a pure sales role . You'll start by learning our companies, services, methodology, and client base. As you develop, you'll participate in operational assessments, learn how we evaluate organizations and processes, identify bottlenecks and owner dependencies, and contribute to client strategy. The long-term goal is to develop the right person into a Walker Independence Group transportation consultant who can manage client relationships and advisory engagements. Location & Travel This is an Arizona-based position , preferably in the Phoenix / East Valley area. This is not a fully remote sales position. You will regularly visit trucking companies throughout Arizona and occasionally travel outside the state for client engagements and operational assessments. Interested?
