JOB OVERVIEW

The Transportation Coordinator is primarily responsible for overseeing all daily to-and-from student transportation operations, working closely with the district’s contracted bus provider to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient routing, scheduling, and communication. This includes managing routes, addressing day-to-day transportation issues, and serving as the districts main point of contact for all to-and-from bus services.

 

In addition, the coordinator organizes and supervises transportation for extracurricular and athletic activities by coordinating activity buses with the bus contractor as well as the district suburban (8-passenger) vehicles. Responsibilities include scheduling, communicating with drivers and contractors, maintaining accurate records in the Travel Tracker system, and collaborating with the contractor, athletic director, coaches, staff, and vendors.  The coordinator proactively troubleshoots transportation concerns and ensures all student transportation—both daily routes and activity travel—runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently.

 
As an Alternative Education Setting Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality virtual education to students being served in an online learning environment.  You will employ effective instructional strategies, utilize digital tools, and foster a positive and engaging online learning experience.  This role requires adaptability, a high level of technological proficiency in online platforms/learning management systems, and a commitment to supporting students in achieving their academic goals.  This teacher must be able to troubleshoot technical issues and provide guidance to students on accessing and using online resources.
 
The coordinator provides support to the Athletic Director during the fall sports season, including checking in on game workers, assisting with event supervision, managing gate operations, and ensuring smooth event execution.

 

*All roles will require extended work hours including evenings and weekends to assist students during non-traditional school hours, to address transportation issues and ensure timely, organized and safe travel for our students.

  

 

QUALIFICATIONS:    

  • Administrative license preferred
  • Teaching certificate or licensure
  • Ability to work collaboratively with bus contractors, coaches, staff, and stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of transportation regulations, safety standards, and best practices
  • Proven experience in online teaching or distance learning environments
  • Strong understanding of educational technology and online learning platforms
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse student needs
  • Highly organized and self-motivated
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills, both written and verbal

 

REPORTS TO:  Superintendent and Athletic Director

 

WORK SCHEDULE:  234 Day Contract 

 

SALARY:  Base salary determined on Salary Schedule
