Transload Operator / General Laborer Bilingual Spanish Required Payrate: $18.90/hr. Position Summary The Grain Transload Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of agricultural commodities between railcars, trucks, and facility equipment. This position involves loading and unloading, operates grain-handling equipment, maintains a clean work environment, conducts routine equipment inspections, and follows all facility safety procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Load and unload grain and other agricultural commodities from railcars and trucks. Operate conveyors, augers, hoppers, elevators, and other material-handling equipment. Open and close railcar gates, hatches, and related equipment as assigned. Direct trucks into designated loading and unloading areas. Monitor commodity flow during transloading to help prevent spills, contamination, and equipment problems. Inspect equipment before and during operation and report on mechanical or safety concerns. Perform basic preventive maintenance, lubrication, and minor repairs as trained and authorized. Maintain accurate loading, unloading, and shipment records as required. Clean pits, conveyors, work areas, and equipment to control grain accumulation and maintain good housekeeping. Assist with spill cleanup and product recovery. Follow established procedures for working around trucks, railcars, and mobile equipment. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow company safety policies. Communicate effectively with drivers, coworkers, supervisors, and other facility personnel. Perform other facility and yard duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous experience in agriculture, grain handling, warehousing, transloading, trucking, or industrial operations preferred. Ability to safely operate or learn to operate grain-handling equipment. Mechanical aptitude and ability to recognize basic equipment problems. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Dependable attendance and ability to work effectively as part of a team. Valid driver's license may be required depending on job duties. Physical Requirements Ability to perform physical work throughout the shift, including standing, walking, bending, climbing, pushing, and pulling. Ability to work on stairs, ladders, platforms, and around industrial equipment. Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions. Ability to work in environments where grain dust, noise, and agricultural materials may be present. Ability to wear required PPE. Ability to lift 80 lbs. Work Environment This position works primarily in an agricultural transload/industrial environment around railcars, commercial trucks, grain-handling equipment, moving machinery, and outdoor work areas. Employees are expected to maintain a strong focus on safety, housekeeping, product quality, and operational efficiency. Schedule Schedule may vary based on railcar arrivals, truck schedules, agricultural seasons, and operational needs. Overtime, weekends, or extended shifts may be required when business needs warrant. English/Spanish Bilingual Required.
