MPD Pallets PloverJob Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Trailer Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of trailers and heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will help keep our fleet operating smoothly, minimizing downtime and maximizing efficiency. Duties Perform comprehensive inspections of trailers, including air brake systems, suspension, axles, tires, and electrical components. Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics, diagnostic tools, and technical manuals; identify root causes of problems quickly and accurately. Repair or replace faulty components such as transmissions, hydraulics, shocks & struts, and electrical systems to restore trailers to optimal working condition. Conduct welding, fabrication, and assembly work on trailers and heavy equipment as needed to ensure structural integrity. Maintain detailed service records, complete work orders promptly, and communicate repair status clearly to team members. Use power tools and hand tools efficiently for repairs, adjustments, and maintenance tasks across various trailer types. Assist with equipment maintenance including forklifts, excavators, cranes, farm machinery, and other industrial equipment to support overall fleet readiness. Experience Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or Trailer Mechanic with dealership or industrial repair background preferred. Strong knowledge of vehicle systems including brakes, transmissions, hydraulics, suspensions, HVAC systems, and diesel engines. Familiarity with schematics for troubleshooting electrical systems and automotive diagnostics tools. Hands-on experience with heavy truck repair, tractor-trailers, and vehicle maintenance is essential. Ability to operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts safely and efficiently. Skilled in welding (including soldering), fabrication techniques, and equipment assembly. Excellent mechanical knowledge combined with customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members and clients.
