Traffic Analyst / Rates

Rosedale Transport in Mississauga, On requires a Rate Analyst. The Rate Analyst is responsible for developing, analyzing and maintaining competitive and profitable transportation rates. The position works closely with Sales, Operations, Billing and Accounts Payables to evaluate customer and lane profitability, support pricing decisions, maintain accurate rate information and identify opportunities to improve revenue and margins. Monday to Friday: 9:30AM - 5:30PM Job Description Respond to one time quote requests as needed via telephone or email Determining and quoting rates and classifications applicable to transportation services, according to rate tables and tariff regulations. Respond to internal and external customers in a timely manner. Work in collaboration on the interline payable daily list from the terminals and approval of the A/P rejected invoices. Assist with projects assigned by the traffic manager Other duties as assigned Experience 3+ years of combined experience in rating, pricing, customer service, or transportation analysis 2+ years of experience in the transportation, trucking, logistics, or freight industry. Experience reviewing or developing LTL and/or truckload rates. Experience analyzing transportation data, including rates, revenue, costs, margins, weights, lanes, and shipment volumes. Experience working with customer-specific pricing, tariffs, fuel surcharges, and accessorial charges. Experience supporting RFQs, RFPs, tenders, or customer pricing requests would be an asset. Experience investigating rating or billing discrepancies and identifying appropriate corrections. Ability to extract, organize, analyze, and interpret transportation and financial data. Comfortable learning transportation software, rating systems, and customer-specific pricing programs. Knowlegde Understanding of LTL and truckload transportation pricing. Knowledge of transportation terminology, freight classifications, lanes, service areas, equipment, and accessorial services. Understanding of how operational factors affect freight costs and profitability. General understanding of fuel surcharge programs, linehaul rates, minimum charges, weight breaks, skid-space pricing, and special-service charges. Understanding of the relationship between pricing, operations, billing, and customer profitability. Only qualified applicants with the outlined experience will be considered for an interview.
