Tow Truck Driver/Mechanic

Job Summary As a Tow Truck Driver/Mechanic, you’ll respond to towing and vehicle recoverys. When your not towing you’ll be working in our shop. You’ll operate a tow truck, including a flatbed, load and secure vehicles, and provide basic mechanical support. Clear communication and steady judgment help you deliver dependable customer service, including when situations are stressful. Duties Tow cars and other vehicles, perform vehicle recovery towing, and load vehicles safely onto a tow truck. Follow cargo securement protocols and use appropriate equipment. Drive commercial trucks safely, including vehicles with manual transmissions, and complete required pre trips. Perform basic vehicle troubleshooting, minor mechanical vehicle repair, automotive diagnostics, and automotive repair within your skills and authorization. Explain service steps to customers, manage conflicts professionally, and document work performed. Your impact: Safe towing and clear updates help customers get their vehicles moved and understand what happens next. Be on call some nights and 2 weekends a month required we can be flexible. Experience Commercial driving and commercial truck driving experience, including car towing or flatbed operation, are valuable. Mechanic experience, mechanical knowledge, and familiarity with vehicle mechanics, Knowledge of automotive diagnostics, automotive repair, basic vehicle troubleshooting, and minor mechanical vehicle repair is preferred. Demonstrated safe driving, vehicle loading, and cargo securement practices are important. Customer service and conflict management skills are helpful when assisting customers during roadside or recovery situations. • Requirements Have or be able to get a Federal Medical Card. Be able to pass a pre employment drug test and be able to pass random drug tests. Be over the age of 18 with a good driving record and pass a background check. Must have a willingness to learn and grow. Must be able to take and learn from constructive criticism.
