Terminal Manager Palm Springs

Job Summary Blackland Transport is a shipping and logistics company which largely operates as a last-mile contractor for FedEx. The Palm Springs Terminal Manager will be the Business Contact (BC) for FedEx management, and will lead all operations on the ground, and be the face to our drivers, our customers, and FedEx. This leader is a crucial part of our success as an organization, and requires a high-level of independence, organization, creativity, and above all else a relentless commitment to doing what it takes to deliver results. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES ● Manage both the day-to-day and long-term goals of Blackland’s operations in the Palm Springs terminal, including: ● Drive required routes averaging 2-3 days per week to control payroll costs ● Own the hiring and training of driver team, including managing performance and safety metrics and expectations ● Responsible for creating a schedule which matches drivers for required FedEx volumes, assigning and managing adjustments necessary to driver routes, utilizing DRO for each day’s operations ● Responsible for submitting payroll (collecting hours worked, validating service numbers) to our home office for the previous week’s operations ● Manage, track, and maintain trucks and other Blackland assets committed to the Palm Springs operations in a systematic and organized way, including proactive maintenance and inspections ● Manage driver team, including managing all customer related issues, driver concerns, performance coaching, and all other company policies and procedures ● Responsible for all direct contact with FedEx terminal leadership including, all customer related issues and all incident and accident-related issues ● Above all else responsible for operating a safe and productive operation in the Terminal Pay: $70,000.00 per year Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Work Location: In person
