Terminal Manager

The Terminal Manager is responsible for leading terminal operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective performance while driving service excellence and compliance. This role oversees personnel, equipment, and facility management to meet company goals and customer expectations Key Responsibilities Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team, including Supervisors, Dispatchers, Drivers, Dock Associates, and Administrative staff. Oversee daily terminal operations (dispatch, driver management, and maintenance where applicable) to ensure efficiency, compliance, and safety. Implement and enforce company policies, procedures, and operating standards. Manage budgets, cost control, and procurement to achieve financial and operational targets. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, shippers, carriers, and vendors. Monitor DVIRs and coordinate timely, compliant equipment repairs. Partner with Safety to ensure regulatory compliance and a safe workplace. Oversee facility upkeep and recommend improvements as needed. Identify training needs and support employee development. Continuously evaluate and improve processes to enhance service quality and cost-effectiveness. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications 5+ years of transportation or logistics management experience 2+ years proven supervisory responsibility Strong understanding of DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and other transportation safety regulations. Preferred Assets Experience with transportation management systems (TMS), dispatch software, and warehouse management systems (WMS) Education High school diploma or equivalent required Physical Requirements Ability to sit for extended periods and work on a computer Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
