Arboris, LLCTank Farm Operator Job Type: Full-time Starting Pay: $23-$25/hour (depending on experience) Schedule: Monday to Friday – Variable day shift hours with potential to work some weekends (depends on truck schedule) Job Summary: The Tank Farm Operator is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the tank farm, and truck and rail unloading/loading area. Essential duties and responsibilities of the Tank Farm Operator include the following, but not limited to receiving and dispatching of chemical materials via pipeline and/or tank truck or railcar, take samples, and perform routine and periodic inspections within compliance with company, government, and industry standards. Primary Job Responsibilities: Understand and comply with the required environmental, health, and safety regulations, policies and procedures. Operate and maintain material handling equipment for tank trailers, ISO-containers, and railcars as directed by company policies and operating procedures. Handle chemical materials as directed by SDS, PPE assessment, and standard operating procedures and work instructions. Ship and receive chemical materials and operating supplies in accordance with regulatory and corporate requirements. Ability to align process lines for routine material transfers from tank to tank to equipment. Maintain material handling equipment and work area in a clean and safe working condition. Recommend equipment or procedural upgrades to improve process efficiency or enhance safety. Secondary Job Responsibilities: Demonstrate ability to apply hazard recognition thought process. Stop operations any time an unsafe condition exists (for both safety and environment), the quality of the products is in question, or the equipment would be adversely affected by continued use. Performs other duties as assigned. Immediately notifies Team Lead of equipment deficiencies, unsafe conditions, or inability to follow SOP’s. Completion and follow-up of items on assigned checklists. Job Qualifications: Comprehensive knowledge of all truck and rail loading and unloading activities. Knowledge of SDS and personal protective equipment requirements associated with handling of chemicals on plant site. Knowledge of plant safety and environmental requirements and checklists. Qualified and demonstrate ability to safely operate industrial fork trucks and lifts. Complete knowledge of raw material receiving process and finished goods shipping process. Ability to perform material transfers associated with rail and truck trailers to and from internal/external storage tanks. Complete knowledge and demonstrated ability to follow all plant safety rules, permitting, etc. Demonstrates a good understanding of basic equipment design, operation, and troubleshooting (pumps, valves, etc.) General understanding of plant equipment and process to the Process Flow Diagram level. Must go through DOT, HazWoper, and confined space entry training qualification. Working knowledge of plant and P&IDs. Be highly motivated and possess the ability to work both independently and in a group with a positive attitude. Possess good interpersonal skills in communication, listening, and good safety practices. Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders, work from heights, and to work outside during all seasons. Demonstrate the ability to perform basic math calculations. Basic skills with Microsoft Word and Excel.
