Your Role at KIK We are seeking a Tank Farm Lead on 2 nd shift with shift hours being Monday-Friday 2:00pm-10:30pm with overtime per business need. This person is responsible for safely overseeing and executing all chlorine unloading, storage, and handling operations within the tank farm. This role ensures strict compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations while maintaining efficient material flow to support production. The Lead provides hands-on direction to operators, coordinates logistics, and drives continuous improvement in a high-hazard chemical environment. New hires will train on 1st shift (Monday-Friday 5:00am-1:30pm) for approximately 2-3 months before moving to 2nd shift. The pay for this role is $29.72 per hour with a $0.10 shift differential for all hours worked on 2 nd shift. What You’ll Be Doing Lead and perform the safe offloading of chlorine from railcars, tankers, or other delivery systems, ensuring adherence to all established procedures and safety protocols. Maintain full compliance with OSHA, EPA, DHS, and other applicable regulations, including Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Plan (RMP) requirements. Enforce strict adherence to PPE and safety procedures. Oversee daily tank farm activities including storage, transfer, and inventory management of chlorine and related chemicals. Serve as a first responder for chlorine-related incidents, ensuring proper execution of emergency procedures, leak response, and evacuation protocols. Coordinate inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs of tanks, piping, valves, scrubbers, and monitoring systems to ensure safe and reliable operations. Track and reconcile chlorine inventory levels. Ensure accurate completion of logs, manifests, inspection reports, and compliance documentation. Provide daily direction, training, and coaching to tank farm operators. Reinforce a strong safety culture and ensure all team members are properly trained and qualified. Work hands-on alongside operators on batching, chemical transfers, and daily tank farm tasks while leading the shift. Identify opportunities to improve safety, efficiency, and reliability of chlorine handling and tank farm operations. Work closely with production, maintenance, EHS, and logistics teams to ensure uninterrupted operations and alignment on priorities. Supervise contractors performing work in the tank farm area, ensuring compliance with site safety requirements. What You’ll Bring High School Diploma or GED required 5 or more years of people leadership experience 3 or more years of experience in chemical manufacturing, tank farm operations, or hazardous material handling Direct experience with chlorine or other highly hazardous chemicals strongly preferred, but not required Experience using a sit down forklift required to move chemical drums Ability to lift up to 90 lbs with team lift, including heavy chlorine valves Working knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Programs (RMP) Familiarity with railcar and tanker offloading systems Strong understanding of safety protocols, emergency response, and regulatory compliance Ability to work in a high-hazard, fast-paced environment with a st…
