Overview We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sushi Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. In this role, you will craft authentic and visually stunning sushi dishes that delight our guests and elevate their dining experience. Your expertise in sushi preparation, knife skills, and ingredient selection will be essential in maintaining our high standards of quality and presentation. As a Sushi Chef, you will also contribute to creating a lively, welcoming atmosphere that celebrates Japanese cuisine and culture. Duties Prepare a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and artistry Source fresh ingredients and ensure proper storage to maintain quality and safety standards Develop new sushi recipes and presentation techniques to keep menus exciting and innovative Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station in compliance with health regulations Educate team members on sushi preparation techniques and culinary best practices Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow during busy hours Assist in inventory management, including ordering supplies and minimizing waste Skills Extensive experience in sushi preparation, including rolling, slicing, and plating techniques Strong knife skills and knowledge of Japanese culinary traditions Ability to develop creative sushi recipes and presentation styles Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling of raw fish and seafood Excellent attention to detail, cleanliness, and organization in the kitchen environment Experience working in fast-paced restaurant settings with a focus on quality control Familiarity with culinary equipment used in sushi preparation such as rice cookers, knives, and mats Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team while maintaining a positive attitude Passion for Japanese cuisine, culture, and continuous learning in culinary arts Join us as a Sushi Chef to bring artistry, precision, and authentic flavor to our restaurant.
