Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive Supply Chain/ Buyer to support procurement operations for our engineered-to-order environment. Reporting to the VP of Supply Chain, this role is responsible for ensuring material availability, managing suppliers, executing purchase orders, and supporting MRP-driven planning activities. The role is fully on-site in the Charlotte metro/Monroe area and requires strong collaboration with Engineering, Operations, and Quality. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, results-oriented manufacturing setting and participates actively in daily production planning meetings and Gemba walks. Key Responsibilities Procurement & Execution Execute purchase orders for machined parts, steel, fabricated components, and MRO commodities Manage the full PO lifecycle from requisition through delivery confirmation Support MRP-driven purchasing and respond quickly to changing production requirements Issue rapid RFPs and support competitive sourcing decisions Collaborate with Engineering to validate specifications for engineered components Solid understanding of sourcing processes (RFx, terms and conditions, PO execution), supplier performance management, and inventory optimization. Strong foundation of identifying, qualifying and managing vendor relationships Hands-on ERP experience required. Experience with multiple modules preferred (Production, Materials, Finance, etc.). Ability to independently problem solve and conduct root-cause analysis. Experience with creating and automating ERP reports. Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to translate analytics into clear business recommendations. Supplier Management Monitor and improve supplier performance, with emphasis on On-Time Delivery, quality, cost, and responsiveness Drive supplier consolidation to streamline the supply base Support supplier risk management and mitigation efforts Maintain clear, timely communication with suppliers Operations Alignment Participate in daily production planning meetings to align purchasing priorities Conduct plant-floor engagement and participate in Gemba walks to understand demand and identify issues Ensure continuous material availability to support production and revenue goals Resolve invoice discrepancies in partnership with Accounts Payable Continuous Improvement Contribute to cost-control initiatives and negotiate improved pricing and terms Recommend and support enhancements to procurement processes and ERP utilization Participate in continuous improvement activities as needed Qualifications Required 6+ years of purchasing or supply chain experience in manufacturing (10+ preferred) Strong ERP experience (Epicor proficiency preferred) Experience purchasing machined parts, fabricated components, steel, and MRO Strong problem-solving skills and detail orientation Ability to work fully on-site, walk the production floor, and engage in Gemba activities Strong organizational, communication, and supplier management skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Preferred Experience in engineered-to-order manufacturing Lean / Six Sigma / CI certifications (encouraged but not required) On Site Monroe NC Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Work Location: In person
