Role Overview The Supply Chain Manager runs the supply chain activities of the business. The role ensures finished goods and raw materials arrive on time and at quality from all external vendors, in support of the production plan and inventory targets. The manager analyzes inventory data, forecasts inventory needs, manages inventory levels, and works with other departments to streamline inventory processes. The role cuts cost and waste and keeps the right products and materials available when needed. The manager reports directly to the Director of Operations and leads a team of Purchasing Agents and a Buyer. The company sees a path to advancement within the organization in three to five years. About the Team The supply chain team works with established suppliers and logistics partners to deliver products that keep customers safe. The team focuses on process optimization, shorter lead times, and strong supplier relationships, with a commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement. The role collaborates closely with sales, operations, and warehousing. Key Responsibilities Sourcing and Vendor Management Manage vendor selection and relationships for all materials used in the facility. Negotiate pricing (including freight), delivery times, and billing terms with a focus on total cost of ownership from end to end. Use strategic sourcing to improve vendor costs, delivery times, and cost containment. Support VAVE (value analysis and value engineering) initiatives with the operations team. Inventory and Planning Develop and review inventory management strategies aligned with supply chain and business objectives. Monitor the movement of raw materials and finished goods to meet production needs and customer fulfillment. Own accurate reporting of inventory targets and warehouse inventory levels. Manage MRP (Material Resource Planning) within the ERP system for accurate forecasting. Apply a full working knowledge of ERP and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and their effect on customer support and delivery times. Support cycle counting and lead the year-end inventory count. Drive continuous improvement in inventory and supply chain processes across operations and warehousing. Forecasting and Analytics Build and maintain independent demand forecast models that drive supply chain planning. Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, build statistical forecast models, and evaluate the results. Produce weekly and monthly inventory reports and vendor performance metrics. Prepare additional reports and analytics for business leaders and executive review. Participate in annual budgeting, strategic planning, and goal setting. Leadership and Collaboration Lead, coach, and direct staff on the purchasing process, production planning and scheduling, and inventory control. Serve as the subject matter expert for demand planning and forecasting across all products. Work with the sales and operations teams to support current and future demand and growth of the business unit. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing, fulfillment, or distribution environment. Direct experience supervising and coaching a team, including goal setting, performance feedback, and reviews. Preferred Advanced Excel skills. Solid understanding of Power BI or other data warehouse technology. Proven ability to prioritize and organize a demanding workload in a fast-paced environment.
