Supplier Quality Manager
Sechan Electronics, Inc.The Supplier Quality Manager (SQM) is responsible for leading the day-to-day activities related to Supplier Quality ensuring that Suppliers meet, as required; applied quality standards, regulatory requirements, overseeing Supplier performance, conducting audits, and leading quality improvement initiatives. This individual will support the Quality Engineering and Purchasing Departments with Supplier selection, quality performance, and nonconforming material activities. This role is a self-starter, problem solver who will utilize analytical skills to find innovative solutions to Supplier Quality-related issues. Using strong communication skills, the SQM fosters the Suppliers’ understanding of requirements and expectations with the focus on providing processes, products, and services that conform to requirements. Position Responsibilities: Responsible for evaluating and selecting new and existing Suppliers against established Quality Management System (QMS) performance requirements and ethical standards. Partners with Purchasing to right size the Supplier base and continuously improve Supplier relationships. Support Management through creation, improvement, and maintenance of processes and procedures associated with Supplier Quality with the focus on overall improvement of Supplier Quality and Delivery. Plan, develop, and executes processes to ensure the Supplier Quality system is in accordance with AS9100 QMS and Quality Assurance related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), customer contractual requirements, Quality Clauses, FARs, and DFARs. Manages and updates the Supplier Quality performance system with ERP/Quality Software. Monitors and audits quality control activities and systems at Supplier and subcontractor facilities. Develops, improves, leads and administers a Certified Supplier Program. Provides support to Receiving Inspection, Quality Engineering and other quality areas. Supports an effective QMS. Routinely analyzes and provides reports on the performance of Suppliers. Evaluates the impact of nonconforming product, assesses Supplier corrective actions, and drives “Zero Defect” mentality within the supply base. Plans, performs and maintains Supplier and sub-tier Supplier audits, source inspections and surveillances, writes audit action item reports and performs on-site action item follow-up Participates in evaluation and disposition nonconforming material through Material Review Board. Responsible for managing and reviewing Supplier Corrective Action Reports as well as assisting Suppliers, as needed, in maintaining an effective Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System. Responsible for maintaining quality flow down requirements and ensuring Supplier conformance. Review Supplier AS9102 First Article Inspection reports as well as training Suppliers to meet Sechan and AS9102 requirements. Interfaces with customer quality representatives including Program Quality, Customer Source Inspectors and Government personnel to resolve Supplier quality issues. Support bidding activities and proposal writing as assigned. Executes all duties in an ethical and professional manner.
