Duties Supervising the transporting of materials between warehouses, containers, dockside, barges, and ships decks or holes, operating of ships cranes or winches, as well as securing cargo. Planning, coordination and execution of all phases for loading/unloading ships and containers. Scheduling and supervising stevedores, and shipboard crane operators, blockers and bracers, riggers, crane operators, and material handlers involved in loading and unloading all types of cargo to and from barges, dockside and ships. Coordinates and evaluates various training programs, and provides technical on-the-job training for subordinates. Monitors worker performance and procedures, develops new procedures and enforces established policy and procedures to safely and economically accomplish work assignments.
