Responsibilities Perform decontamination, cleaning, sterilization, and reprocessing of surgical instruments, endoscopes, and medical equipment following established sterilization procedures. Assemble, inspect, package, and label sterile instruments and supplies accurately for use in surgical procedures. Manage inventory levels of sterile supplies and medical instruments, ensuring proper storage and timely replenishment to prevent shortages. Follow strict aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to prevent cross-contamination during all processing activities. Conduct routine quality checks on sterilized items to verify proper sterilization cycles and adherence to safety standards. Maintain detailed documentation of sterilization processes, equipment maintenance logs, and inventory records. Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure timely delivery of sterile supplies and assist with endoscope reprocessing as needed. Qualifications Proven experience in sterile processing or medical instrument assembly within a healthcare setting. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to surgical instruments and procedures. Familiarity with infection prevention management, healthcare infection control standards, and aseptic techniques. Ability to operate sterilizers, ultrasonic cleaners, endoscope reprocessors, and other medical equipment safely and effectively. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for inventory management and record keeping. Knowledge of surgical instrument handling, sterilization cycles, and decontamination procedures. Certification in sterile processing or related fields is preferred but not mandatory; relevant training will be provided for qualified candidates.
