Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona515 N 51st Ave Phoenix Arizona, 85043, +1 (602) 5138420 Starting Pay :$85,000.00 Annual Position Description: Responsible for the oversight, leadership and logistical operations for the Transportation department of Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona (GCNA) and its affiliated entities. Provides strategic vision, leadership and general management skills to ensure Transportation is successful in controlling product movement along with providing optimal support to Retail, Warehouse Operations and Retail Donation Centers (RDCs). Key responsibilities include people leadership, transportation logistics operations, financial management, inventory control, customer service, human resources and training & development. Builds and retains motivated, high performing teams through effective leadership of management. Provides support and analytical feedback for mergers and acquisitions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Executes operations plan to achieve daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly goals for controlling expenses. Coordinates with Transportation Managers and Leadership to define objectives and goals by constantly reviewing routes and performing needs assessments to achieve efficient and cost-effective operations. Coordinates with Leadership to develop and implement strategic plans to help drive daily operations. Partners with Leadership to facilitate the annual budget process. Ensures Team Members deliver excellent customer service to vendors and customers. Ensures all transportation areas including trucks are clean, well-kept, and reflects the Goodwill brand appropriately. Ensures that the retail stores, RDC’s and ROC Departments’ transportation needs are met. Partners closely with Warehouse Operations, Retail and Fleet to ensure efficient operations. Collaborates with HR Business Partners to ensure people management goals are achieved and issues are satisfactorily resolved. Ensures that department leadership is well-trained and fulfill their duties and responsibilities. Ensures that daily operational goals are met. Ensures department complies with all policies and procedures relating to Security, Health and Safety; influences any changes necessary to meet statutory requirements, ensuring minimum risk to Team Members and the business. Partners with support areas (Asset Protection, Human Resources, Safety, Finance, etc.) to further business goals and ensure compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and regulations. Ensures all DOT and OSHA rules and regulations are being followed and all related paperwork is maintained. As needed, drives to the location of a driver accident, go to stores to visit with District Managers, retrieves parts, or takes a driver to pick up equipment. May travel to retail locations to follow up on issues/concerns relating to transportation and to Corporate for meetings/trainings. Builds a strong management team through coaching, identifying skills and opportunities for development; provides advice and guidance on issues. Identifies top talent through interviewing and hiring to ensure the organizations capability to deliver on its goals Responsible for performance management (coaching, discipline, performance improvement plans, and annual reviews), staffing, compensation, and development of Team Members. Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills): Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent work experience preferred. Minimum of 5 years’ Transportation Logistics experience preferred.
