Overview We are seeking an energetic and highly motivated Senior Trade Lane Manager specializing in Sea Freight to join our dynamic logistics team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the end-to-end management of sea freight trade lanes, ensuring seamless transportation operations that meet client expectations and compliance standards. Your expertise will drive efficiency, foster strong client relationships, and optimize freight solutions across international markets. Responsibilities Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of sea freight trade lane operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective transportation solutions. Develop and maintain robust relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, NVOCCs (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carriers), and other logistics partners to secure optimal rates and service levels. Manage client accounts by providing tailored shipping solutions, negotiating contracts, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through proactive communication. Oversee the entire sales cycle from lead generation to closing deals, utilizing CRM software to track interactions and opportunities effectively. Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, FDA regulations where applicable, and shipping logistics standards across all trade lanes. Utilize transportation management systems (TMS), EDI (Electronic Data Interchange), AS400 platforms, and other logistics technology tools to streamline operations and data entry processes. Collaborate with internal teams on transportation planning, dispatching, pricing strategies, and freight brokerage activities to optimize supply chain flows. Define and optimize ocean freight product strategy of NVOCC , including solutions and trade lane of Asia-USA planning Manage carrier relationships, rate structures, service standards and capacity allocation Conduct market research on ocean freight trends, pricing, competitors and customs needs Develop SOPs, pricing models, product manuals and sales training materials Support RFQs, key account solutions and new business development Monitor product performance, profitability and customer satisfaction, and drive continuous Skills Extensive experience in supply chain management, transportation management systems, and logistics company operations. Proven track record in B2B sales, account management, and logistics sales with a focus on freight forwarding logistics and shipping logistics. Strong negotiation skills coupled with customer relationship management expertise to foster long-term client partnerships. Knowledge of NVOCC operations, freight brokerage practices, air freight options, and 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) services. Familiarity with international trade regulations including trade compliance and FDA regulations for applicable shipments. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), CRM software for lead generation and client communication, as well as EDI systems for data exchange. Excellent communication skills for client interaction, contract negotiations, and cross-functional collaboration within a fast-paced logistics environment. Ability to analyze data for pricing strategies, transportation planning, and dispatching while maintaining high standards of customer service.
