Sr. Buyer

HOPPE North America, Inc., a manufacturer and wholesaler of window and door hardware is looking to replace our retiring Sr. Buyer . This key positition will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing inventory levels to support both pass-through and production requirements. Key Responsibilities Manage procurement of assigned commoditites and suppliers including raw materials, components, semi‑finished, finished goods, and outside processing. Convert MRP requirements into purchase orders Monitor inventory levels and prevent shortages while minimizing excess inventory. Negotiate pricing, leadtime, and supplier agreements. Track supplier performance metrics including... 1) On-time delivery 2) Quality 3) Cost, and 4) Responsiveness. Resolve shortages and expedite critical materials. Partner with Sales, Planning, Production, Engineering, and Quality teams. Support new product launches and engineering changes. Analyze purchasing trends and identify cost reduction opportunities. Sourcing new vendors domestically and internationally. Qualifications Technical Skills Strong understanding of MRP-driven purchasing. Experience managing inventory levels, safety stock, and replenishment strategies. Ability to analyze demand, forecast changes, and supplier performance. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, Power Query preferred). Experience reviewing and acting on exception messages and planning recommendations. Experience 5+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience. 2+ years in a manufacturing environment. Experience managing suppliers and negotiating pricing, terms, and contracts. Experience purchasing direct materials that support production operations. Experience working within an ERP/MRP system (D365 preferred). Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, Finance, or related field preferred.
