Snow Plow Subcontractors: Owner-Operators with Plow & Salter (Durham & York Region)

Job Overview SG Quality Property Maintenance and Services Inc. (QPS Landscape Professionals) is a Durham Region contractor providing snow removal, property maintenance, concrete and civil/municipal work. We're looking for dependable, reliable and responsible owner-operators with their own truck, plow and salter to join us for the winter season (November to April). This is strictly parking lot plowing and salting at 13 Durham District School Board schools and/or 14 municipal housing properties in York Region. Responsibilities Plow and salt assigned parking lots (lot work only, no sidewalks or shovelling) Respond to storm call-outs day or night so lots are clear before schools open and residents need access Follow site-specific instructions and protect curbs, fences, light poles and other property Report site completion and any issues promptly Keep your truck, plow and salter in good working order throughout the season Ensure timely and thorough snow removal to maintain safe access for pedestrians and vehicles. Follow safety protocols and environmental guidelines while handling salt and other de-icing materials. Communicate proactively with QPS regarding service schedules, completion status, or any issues encountered during operations. Respond promptly to emergency snow removal requests during severe weather events to minimize disruptions. Qualifications Ability to work independently in challenging winter conditions with minimal supervision. Own truck with a mounted plow and salter/spreader Commercial liability insurance and commercial auto insurance, with proof before starting WSIB clearance certificate (or proof of exemption) Valid Ontario driver's licence and a clean driving record Proven snow plowing experience, ideally on commercial or institutional lots Dependable, reliable and responsible: you show up every storm and answer your phone at all times Willingness to provide a police record check (may be required for school sites) Familiarity with landscape maintenance, horticulture, or general construction is a plus.
