Showroom & Warehouse Associate | Full Time Kush Rugs · Portland, OR Kush Rugs is an independent, high-end rug company known for exceptional service and innovative, beautifully made products. Behind every rug is a team of craftspeople and professionals we work with fairly and honorably, and inside our showroom is a small, collaborative team that genuinely enjoys working together and with our clients. We’re looking for someone strong, sharp, motivated, and hands-on to keep our showroom and operations running smoothly. You’ll learn how high-end rugs are made, sourced, sold, and delivered, getting to know our product line, materials, and constructions well enough to keep the showroom and warehouse organized. You’ll work side by side with our sales team every day, and after 90 days you’ll share in the store’s success through commission tied to store sales, which can add over $5,000 a year. What you’ll do Showroom care Keep the showroom clean, polished, and inviting through daily vacuuming, dusting, and upkeep Keep our sample library organized and accurately documented Label samples with inventory labels, a detailed and highly repetitive task that keeps our sample library accurate Reset rugs and samples after use so the space is always ready Support sales Pull samples for shipment and flip rug stacks for clients Join deliveries and installations, driving our company van (standard size, no commercial license needed), moving furniture, and hauling rugs Shipping and receiving Receive, unwrap, and move shipments and document condition and contents Pack outgoing orders, prepare freight shipments on pallets, and share tracking with the sales team Manage rug pad Cut custom pad for client orders with precision (measure twice, cut once) Track pad inventory for orders and general stock You’ll thrive here if you Are detail-oriented and organized; you notice when something’s out of place and fix it Can stay focused and accurate through repetitive tasks Take initiative and don’t need to be told what’s next Enjoy physical, active work and being on your feet Are comfortable with basic computer tasks and willing to learn our systems Bring a positive, can-do attitude and work well on a small team Requirements Ability to regularly lift and move up to 70 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation (larger rugs are moved as a team) Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record Pay, schedule, and benefits $21/hour to start, plus commission tied to store sales after 90 days (can add over $5,000 annually) Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm (4pm close on Wednesdays), weekends always off; work outside these hours is very rare The entire week between Christmas and New Year’s off, paid 104 hours of PTO per year, plus major holidays Quality health insurance after 60 days, with 75% of the plan covered by Kush Rugs SIMPLE IRA with 3% match after one year $50/month cell phone stipend How to apply Send your resume along with a few sentences about why this role appeals to you.
