About the role Verdaine is a Denver food and beverage co-manufacturer making sauces, dressings, condiments, juices and beverage mixers for brands nationwide. Our Shipping & Receiving Clerk keeps ingredients, packaging and finished goods moving in and out of our plant accurately, on time and food-safe. You will report to the Warehouse Manager and work closely with Production and Quality. Pay, schedule and benefits Pay: $21–$26 per hour, based on experience Schedule: Full-time, with shifts generally scheduled within warehouse hours of 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; occasional overtime or weekends when production requires Benefits: Health benefits, time off and holidays What you'll do Receive inbound ingredient and packaging deliveries: check against the PO, inspect trailers, seals and product condition, record temperatures on refrigerated loads, and hold or reject anything out of spec Record lot numbers, dates and quantities so every ingredient is traceable from receipt to finished product Put materials away in the right location (cooler, dry, allergen-segregated or organic) and rotate stock FIFO/FEFO Pick, pack, stage and load outbound orders accurately; build, wrap and label pallets Prepare bills of lading (BOLs) and shipping paperwork, and schedule pickups with carriers Inspect outbound trailers for cleanliness, temperature and condition before loading Keep shipping and receiving records complete and accurate, and enter transactions in our inventory system Stage ingredients and packaging for production runs on schedule Help with cycle counts and physical inventory; report shortages, damages and discrepancies Walk the warehouse daily for allergen control, organization, sanitation and pest activity, and keep the dock and storage areas clean and safe Keep records audit-ready for food safety and customer audits Plan your shift to the weekly schedule and tell your supervisor early if a task will run past it What we're looking for High school diploma or GED 1+ year of shipping, receiving or warehouse experience; food, beverage or other regulated manufacturing preferred Forklift and pallet jack experience; certification preferred (we will train and certify) Comfortable with basic math, paperwork and computers (email, spreadsheets, inventory software) Accurate with counts, lot codes and dates Communicates clearly, works independently and flags problems early Familiarity with GMPs, allergen control or a GFSI program (SQF/BRC) is a plus Physical demands and work environment Lift and carry up to 50 lb regularly; move loaded pallets with equipment Stand and walk for a full shift; bend, squat, reach and climb Work in refrigerated coolers, on the loading dock and in a production environment with noise and wet floors Safety and PPE Follow all company safety rules and report incidents and near-misses right away Wear required PPE (provided): hairnet, beard net if applicable, nitrile gloves, non-slip boots and smock Food safety All employees complete documented Good Manufacturing Practices training (PR-QA-PO-006) before starting work and again every year.
