Shipping & Logistics Associate

Position Summary The Shipping & Logistics Associate is responsible for preparing, packaging, loading, and coordinating outbound shipments to ensure accurate and timely delivery of equipment. This role requires hands-on warehouse experience, the safe operation of power tools and forklifts, and the ability to generate and manage Bills of Lading (BOLs) and related shipping documentation. This position plays a key role in maintaining efficiency, quality control, and accuracy within the shipping department. Key Responsibilities Prepare and stage outbound shipments according to order specifications Build, reinforce, or modify pallets and crates using power tools (drills, saws, nail guns, impact drivers, etc.) Safely operate forklifts to load and unload trucks, move inventory, and organize warehouse space Create and process Bills of Lading (BOLs) and verify shipping documentation accuracy Confirm shipment weights, freight class, and packaging requirements Inspect outgoing products for damage, quality issues, and completeness Coordinate with carriers for pickup scheduling and dock assignments Secure freight using straps, shrink wrap, blankets, and other protective materials Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Follow all safety protocols and company policies Required Qualifications Experience in warehouse or shipping operations Ability to safely operate a forklift (certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification) Experience using power tools in a professional setting Working knowledge of creating and processing Bills of Lading (BOLs) Basic understanding of freight terminology (LTL, FTL, freight class, NMFC, etc.) Ability to lift 50+ lbs consistently Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Preferred Qualifications Experience shipping large or heavy equipment Familiarity with shipping software or ERP systems Knowledge of pallet building, crate construction, and freight securement standards Understanding of freight class determination and documentation accuracy Physical Requirements Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and walking Ability to work in a warehouse environment (heat, cold, dust) Safe operation of forklifts and warehouse equipment Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly pay (based on experience) Opportunities for overtime Benefits package (health, PTO, holidays – if applicable) Growth opportunities within operations and logistics Join us as a Shipping & Logistics Associate to play a key role in delivering excellence through efficient warehouse operations!
