How would you contribute? This role is a contributing member of our Airlite - West team, located in Omaha, NE. As a Shipping Clerk - Omaha West you are a key to continued growth and success of Airlite. The Shipper is responsible for assigning outbound loads, preparing proper shipping documents and completing the outbound shipping processes in collaboration with the customer service and/or traffic departments. Essential Duties: Assign outbound shipments in collaboration with the shipping manager, traffic and customer service departments; document assignment in required computer system(s). Prepare and complete the proper paperwork required for shipment. Update and process outbound shipments in the required computer system(s). Perform shipping tasks associated with UPS, Fed Ex. and/or other carrier systems. Greet and assist over the road drivers picking up outbound loads, verify bills of lading, carrier, trailer and other necessary information. Answer phone and email inquiries regarding outbound shipments. Maintain accurate inventory count of pallets. Maintain current and accurate accounting of available trailers. File shipping paperwork in appropriate electronic and physical filing systems. Follow all plant safety procedures in order to ensure personal safety and the safety of others. Maintain company attendance standards. Report food safety issues to management. Perform other duties as assigned. Do you have what it takes? Successful candidates for the role will possess the following: Qualifications, Knowledge, skills, and Abilities Required: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Six (6) months logistics, shipping or customer service experience preferred. Knowledge of general traffic, warehouse and logistics processes. Ability to read and interpret documents in English. Ability to write routine reports in English. Ability to speak effectively with company employees and supervisors in English. Capability to utilize problem solving skills. Good organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects/activities/goals. Must be able to work well with others, build partnerships and support team members. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and tactful in dealing with people at all levels. Must be self-motivated and positive. Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations. Display highest ethical standards. Maintain the utmost level of confidentiality in dealing with sensitive information. Detail oriented, with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Basic computer skills with the ability to operate Microsoft Office products.
