Small Pack / Ship Associate Reports to: Shipping Supervisor Role overview Verify, package, label, and stage standard-size customer orders. Work under the Supervisor's and Lead's direction to protect products efficiently and complete shipments in time for carrier loading. Multiple employees may hold this same role; it is not a supervisory position. Large-pack preparation, freight arrangements, forklift work, and final truck loading are not default duties. Responsibilities Compare picked products and quantities with the customer order before packaging. Report discrepancies for resolution rather than packing a known incorrect or incomplete order. Choose the smallest suitable box or package that adequately protects the contents. Avoid unnecessary package size and excessive material use without compromising protection. Pack and secure products using the department's established methods. Maintain consistent quality while progressing through assigned orders and including promotional materials where instructed. Complete assigned labeling steps, confirm that each label matches its package, and place finished shipments in the designated outbound staging area for loading. Follow daily priorities and communicate issues that prevent completion, including product condition, missing information, or packaging concerns. Keep unresolved orders visible to the Supervisor or Lead before pickup. What success looks like Orders contain the correct products, labels match the packages, and products are protected without wasteful packaging.
