Large Pack & Dock Associate Reports to: Shipping Supervisor Role overview Package oversized products and less-than-truckload (LTL) freight, arrange freight pickups, and prepare shipping paperwork. Load all completed outbound shipments onto the correct carrier trucks, including small parcels packed by others. This hands-on role works the latest warehouse schedule through final pickup, potentially around 5-6 p.m. Responsibilities Verify products and quantities before packaging. Prepare heavier and bulkier items for shipment, palletizing when needed and using suitable protection and securing methods. Select packaging that protects the product without unnecessary size or material use. Resolve product or order discrepancies with the Supervisor or Lead and RPPC before shipment. Arrange LTL pickups and prepare the associated shipping documents. Ensure shipment information and readiness are accurate, and raise pickup or documentation problems promptly. Operate the forklift/hi-lo needed for product movement, palletized freight, and loading, within the required training and authorization. Use appropriate equipment and assistance for heavier or awkward items. Organize and load finished small parcels, oversized packages, and freight onto the correct carriers. Check that completed shipments scheduled to leave are not overlooked or placed on the wrong truck. Coordinate late-day priorities with the Supervisor or Lead and remain through scheduled loading. Report any shipment that does not leave as planned; the Shipping Supervisor provides primary specialized backup. What success looks like Larger products are protected and efficiently packaged, freight arrangements and documents are correct, and completed shipments leave on the right carriers. Any pickup exception is clearly communicated rather than left unresolved.
