Job Description: As a Shipping Associate at HardingPoorman, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our shipping department. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks including routing drivers, handling day-to-day shipping processes, and more. Your attention to detail, ability to prioritize tasks, and dedication to quality work will contribute to our overall success. Responsibilities: Operate material-moving equipment, such as electronic jacks, hand carts, and vehicles, in an efficient, productive, and safe manner. Adhere to all schedules and meet established quality metrics for the department. Provide daily and basic maintenance on machines as needed. Route drivers and handle day-to-day shipping processes. Coordinate pick-ups for recycling and call-in freight pick-ups. Skills and Qualifications: Proficient in operating material-moving equipment efficiently and safely. Basic computer skills and the ability to navigate shipping software. Ability to read, interpret, and follow visual instructions, such as job tickets. Effective communication skills. Strong attention to detail and orientation towards quality work. Proactive in identifying and addressing problems with projects or processes. Ability to work independently with little supervision. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and time effectively. Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment. High level of initiative and reliability. Previous experience in shipping or a related field preferred.
