Shipping and Receiving Specialist
Exotic WholesalePosition Summary We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Associate to join our wholesale warehouse team. This position is responsible for receiving incoming shipments, verifying products and quantities, preparing outgoing customer orders, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring products are handled, stored, and shipped correctly. The ideal candidate is organized, efficient, comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment, and able to maintain accuracy while handling a high volume of products and orders. Key Responsibilities Receive and process incoming shipments from vendors and distributors. Unload, inspect, count, and verify incoming merchandise against purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices. Identify and report damaged, missing, incorrect, or over-shipped merchandise. Accurately document received products and quantities in the company inventory system. Label, organize, and properly store incoming merchandise. Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment. Verify products, quantities, and shipping information before orders leave the warehouse. Generate shipping labels and prepare required shipping documentation. Coordinate outgoing shipments with approved shipping carriers. Track shipments and assist with resolving delivery or shipping discrepancies. Process returned or refused shipments according to company procedures. Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing merchandise. Assist with inventory counts, cycle counts, and inventory reconciliation. Maintain an organized and clean shipping and receiving area. Work closely with Purchasing, Sales, Inventory, and Warehouse teams to resolve order or inventory issues. Follow company procedures regarding restricted or regulated products. Maintain product security and immediately report inventory discrepancies or unusual activity. Assist with stocking, warehouse organization, and general warehouse duties as needed. Follow all workplace safety procedures and company policies. Qualifications Previous shipping, receiving, warehouse, fulfillment, or inventory experience preferred. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to accurately count and verify merchandise. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Basic computer and data-entry skills. Ability to read and understand purchase orders, packing slips, invoices, and shipping documentation. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Ability to follow established procedures and instructions. Ability to safely lift, move, and handle merchandise throughout the workday. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in wholesale distribution or a high-volume warehouse. Experience using inventory management or warehouse management systems. Experience with UPS, FedEx, USPS, or other shipping platforms. Familiarity with barcode scanners, shipping label systems, and warehouse equipment. Experience receiving and reconciling vendor shipments. Experience handling smoke, vape, tobacco, convenience, or similar wholesale products is a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements throughout the workday. Ability to safely lift and carry merchandise and packages as required by the position. Ability to work in a warehouse environment and perform physical tasks throughout the scheduled shift.
