Shipping and Receiving Specialist

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Specialist to join our logistics team. In this vital role, you will oversee the efficient management of incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring that all products are accurately processed, packaged, and dispatched in accordance with company standards and shipping regulations. Responsibilities Receive, inspect, and verify inbound shipments against purchase orders and shipping documents using warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory management software. Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, labeling, and documenting orders accurately utilizing order picker equipment, pallet jacks, and packaging tools. Load and unload trucks efficiently using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain accurate inventory records through data entry into ERP systems such as AS400 or similar platforms; conduct regular stock counts to ensure inventory integrity. Coordinate with logistics providers to schedule pickups and deliveries while ensuring compliance with international trade regulations and trade compliance standards. Assist in maintaining a clean, organized warehouse environment by stocking shelves, managing storage areas, and ensuring proper packaging for shipment protection. Provide excellent customer service by addressing shipping inquiries promptly and supporting order fulfillment processes with attention to detail. Qualifications Proven experience in warehouse operations, shipping & receiving, or inventory management within a fast-paced distribution environment. Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP platforms like AS400 or similar software, and Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of shipping logistics, order fulfillment procedures, trade compliance, and international trade regulations. Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for weight measurements, quantities, and measurements during packing and inventory counts. Valid forklift certification or experience operating forklifts safely; familiarity with pallet jacks is preferred. Strong data entry skills with attention to detail; ability to work efficiently with warehouse distribution processes such as stock picking & packing, order picking, load & unload activities. Excellent communication skills coupled with a customer service mindset; capable of collaborating effectively across teams to meet deadlines.
