Shipping and Receiving Specialist

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Specialist to join our logistics team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing the efficient movement of goods into and out of our warehouse, ensuring accurate order fulfillment, and maintaining seamless inventory flow. Responsibilities Coordinate the receipt of incoming shipments by verifying delivery documentation and inspecting goods for damage or discrepancies. Prepare outgoing shipments by selecting, packing, labeling, and documenting orders accurately using shipping logistics and inventory management software. Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and order pickers to load and unload trucks efficiently while adhering to safety standards. Maintain precise inventory records through data entry in warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP systems like AS400 or similar platforms. Conduct regular stock counts, reconcile inventory discrepancies, and update records to ensure data accuracy for inventory management. Collaborate with customer service teams to resolve shipping issues, provide order updates, and ensure timely delivery in compliance with trade regulations and international trade standards. Support warehouse distribution activities including order picking & packing, stocking, and preparing shipments for dispatch while maintaining high standards of quality control. Qualifications Proven experience in warehouse operations or logistics roles with familiarity in shipping & receiving processes. Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management software, ERP systems (such as AS400), and Microsoft Office tools. Strong understanding of shipping logistics, trade compliance, international trade regulations, and e-commerce fulfillment processes. Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and other warehouse equipment safely; forklift certification is preferred. Basic math skills for weighing packages, calculating dimensions, and verifying quantities accurately. Excellent data entry skills combined with a customer service mindset to address inquiries professionally. Knowledge of order fulfillment procedures including picking & packing, load & unload operations, and stocking techniques.
