Position Summary - Wage dependent upon experience. The Shipping and Receiving Associate ensure the safe, accurate, and timely handling of incoming raw materials, parts, and outgoing finished products. This role coordinates daily loading activity, verifies shipment documentation, maintains inventory control records, and operates material-handling equipment to support manufacturing operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Receiving Unload Trucks: Safely load and unload freight, trucks, and delivery vans using forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks. Inspect Deliveries: Check incoming goods against packing slips, purchase orders, and invoices to verify correct quantities and item numbers. Damage Assessment: Inspect materials for visible defects or damage, documenting and reporting discrepancies immediately. Put-Away & Labeling: Properly tag, identify, and stock incoming raw materials and components into designated warehouse or production locations. Shipping Order Fulfillment: Pick, stage, and verify finished goods or parts according to production and customer shipping schedules. Packaging: Package, wrap, band, label, and palletize products securely to prevent transit damage. Documentation: Generate accurate bills of lading (BOL), packing slips, and shipping labels. Carrier Coordination: Communicate with freight carriers and freight forwarders to schedule pickups and track outbound shipments. Inventory & Safety Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe loading area and warehouse environment in compliance with OSHA standards. Safety Compliance: Follow all established safety protocols for material handling, heavy lifting, and equipment operation. Qualifications and Requirements Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred. Experience: 1–3 years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, or manufacturing logistics. Equipment Skills: Valid forklift certification or the willingness and ability to complete company-sponsored forklift training. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. regularly with or without reasonable accommodation. Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, basic math competency, and clear verbal communication skills for cross-departmental coordination (Production, Quality, Purchasing).
