Shipping and Receiving Associate

Position Title: Shipping and Receiving Associate Reports To: Plant Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Location: On-site at plant location in Ridgefield, CT Pay Range: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Position Summary: The Shipping and Receiving Associate ensures the accurate and timely movement of incoming and outgoing goods at the plant. This role is responsible for checking shipments, maintaining records, and helping keep the warehouse organized and safe. Key Responsibilities: Receive incoming shipments and verify contents against purchase orders Move, stack, and organize materials and finished goods in designated storage areas. Inspect goods for damage and report discrepancies Prepare and pack outgoing shipments according to company guidelines Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely to transport materials throughout the facility. Label and document all shipments accurately Load and unload trucks safely using forklifts or pallet jacks Maintain accurate inventory and shipping/receiving records Keep work area clean and follow all safety procedures Communicate with drivers, vendors, and team members as needed Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse preferred Forklift experience and/or certification a plus Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Basic computer skills for data entry, shipping/receiving software, and maintaining electronic records Good attention to detail and accuracy Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods Team player with a positive attitude Reliable and punctual Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6am – 2:30 pm, with occasional overtime as needed General Eligibility Requirements: Must pass pre-employment background checks as required Legally authorized to work in the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Statement: Saunders Midwest LLC is an equal opportunity employer.
