Join Our Team Shipping & Receiving / Tea Shop Attendant Denman Tea | Courtenay, BC We're looking for a highly organized, dependable, and enthusiastic individual to join our small, dedicated team at our warehouse and retail tea shop in Courtenay. This is a varied, hands-on position that combines shipping and receiving, order fulfillment, inventory management, and customer service. No two days are quite the same, so we're looking for someone who enjoys variety, takes initiative, and can confidently move between tasks while staying organized and focused. Position Details Schedule: Initially 3 days per week, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with occasional Saturdays required. Additional Hours: Potential to increase to 5 days per week during our busy holiday season. Hours may return to 3 days per week after Christmas, depending on business needs. Holiday Closure: Our business is closed for the week between Christmas and New Year's Day. Pay: $20–$22 per hour to start, based on experience. Anticipated Start Date: November 3, 2026. Location: Courtenay, BC (in person). Perks: Employee tea discount and on-site parking. Key Responsibilities Picking, packing, and shipping retail and wholesale orders accurately and efficiently. Receiving shipments and maintaining accurate inventory records. Assisting customers in our retail tea shop and processing sales. Performing data entry and working with online ordering and shipping systems. Supporting daily warehouse and retail operations. What We're Looking For Reliability and dependability: Someone who is consistently punctual, takes their responsibilities seriously, and can be counted on to follow through. Exceptional organizational skills: Able to manage multiple priorities, switch comfortably between tasks, and remain calm and focused in a busy environment. Excellent computer skills: Strong keyboarding speed and accuracy, with confidence using technology and learning new software. Outstanding attention to detail: Accuracy is essential when processing orders, entering information, and preparing shipments. Independence and initiative: A self-motivated individual who can work efficiently with minimal supervision while contributing to a team. Physical capability: Able to remain on their feet for extended periods and safely lift and handle items weighing up to 25 kg. Customer service: Friendly, professional, and comfortable assisting customers in a retail environment. Professional presentation and personal hygiene: Maintain high standards of personal cleanliness and wear clean, neat, business-casual attire appropriate for a customer-facing retail and warehouse environment, with safe, practical footwear. Experience with Microsoft Office, Shopify, Square POS, and online shipping platforms is an asset. Previous shipping, receiving, or retail experience is preferred.
