This position is responsible for completing various tasks, related to all activities in the shipping/receiving/stores/material handling department. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Verifies, visually inspects all incoming and outgoing shipments, oils, packs and prepares items for shipment, and ensures shipments meet all internal/external specifications. Rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with related or responsible departments to inform and/or rectify damages and shortages. Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, customs documents, invoices, orders, or other records. Prepare above documents if necessary. Perform tasks, ERP transactions related to the centralized shipping and receiving of a wide variety of equipment, raw materials, subcontract process operations as per PO requirements, if required Move raw material/WIP to related departments in a timely manner Routes various other items to the afferent locations like MRB, Receiving Inspection, Stores, Shop floor as required Works with the Inventory and Logistics Administrator/Lead Hand/Supervisor on all issues related to inventory, receiving and shipping. (Organizing and maintaining the inventory of raw material and Finished Goods, including help in coordination of inventory counts and audits). Operates lift truck, hand truck, overhead crane to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping-and-receiving platform to storage or shop work area. Safely Removes chip luggers at work centers and empties them into the main chip bins per required material type Perform laborer duties when required Maintain an FOD free, tidy work environment at all times MAIN JOB EXPECTATIONS No errors or missing items at receiving/shipping Full coverage supports for material handling/shipping department Work safely, following internal procedural standards and WI, and report any related issues to Supervisor QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent experience EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE: Four (4) years’ experience in shipping/receiving or a similar role Strong communication, administrative and organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects and programs Previous forklift reach truck or hand truck equipment experience is an asset Safety conscious Be able to maintain the confidentiality of any information SKILLS & ABILITIES: Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and other fundamental data-based ERP applications Excellent time management and prioritization skills with multitasking ability Able to work under pressure A confident self-starter with sound decision-making skills Excellent problem-solving skills, trouble shooting skills and attention to detail Ability to lift 50 lbs.
