Milbern Clothing is a family-owned men’s clothing retailer serving customers in St. Paul, Minnesota, since 1946. We offer a broad selection of men’s suits, sport coats, dress pants, shirts, outerwear, accessories, formalwear, and custom clothing, along with professional tailoring and alteration services. With both in-store and online customers, accurate order handling and strong coordination are essential to providing a dependable shopping experience. We are seeking an organized, reliable, and detail-oriented Order Processing Assistant to support customer orders, inventory coordination, fulfillment, and daily retail operations. Position Overview The Order Processing Assistant helps ensure customer orders are processed accurately and efficiently from initial receipt through final pickup or shipment. This position supports both online and store-related orders by reviewing order information, confirming product details and availability, coordinating with sales and inventory staff, organizing items for fulfillment, maintaining accurate records, and helping resolve routine order issues. Because apparel orders frequently involve specific sizes, colors, styles, alterations, and customer preferences, attention to detail is especially important. The Order Processing Assistant may also help coordinate orders requiring tailoring or alterations and ensure updated information is communicated to the appropriate team members. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, comfortable working with customers and merchandise, and capable of managing multiple orders at different stages of completion. Previous retail, order processing, apparel, inventory, or customer service experience is helpful but not required. Training will be provided for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities Receive and process online and in-store customer orders Review order information for accuracy and completeness Verify customer contact, billing, shipping, and pickup information Confirm product styles, sizes, colors, quantities, and other order specifications Check product availability and coordinate with inventory staff when needed Update customers or appropriate team members when requested items are unavailable Assist with identifying appropriate alternatives when a specific size, color, or style is unavailable Enter and update customer and order information in internal systems Maintain accurate records of pending, completed, shipped, and pickup orders Coordinate orders involving suits, sport coats, pants, shirts, outerwear, accessories, and formalwear Assist with custom and special-order documentation as needed Coordinate order information for merchandise requiring tailoring or alterations Ensure alteration instructions and customer specifications are accurately documented Communicate order status and important changes to sales, tailoring, and other team members Monitor outstanding orders and follow up on items requiring additional action Help organize merchandise for customer pickup and shipment Verify items against order information before fulfillment Check merchandise for obvious defects, incorrect sizes, or other discrepancies Assist with folding, packaging, and preparing apparel for shipment when required Prepare shipping labels and related order documentation Help coordinate carrier pickups and outgoing shipments Update tracking and shipment information in customer records Assist customers with routine questions regarding order status, shipping, pickup, and availability Support exchanges, returns, replacements, and order adjustments according to company procedures Help process merchandise returned by customers and update related records Coordinate with inventory personnel to ensure returned merchandise is properly accounted for Assist with locating merchandise and checking stock for customer orders Help identify inventory discrepancies discovered during order processing Support organization of order staging and fulfillment areas Maintain organized…
