Ship Prep & Yard Supervisor Position Summary C&J Equipment Manufacturing is seeking a highly organized and motivated Ship Prep & Yard Supervisor to oversee all shipping preparation activities, yard operations, inventory staging, and loading operations. This position is responsible for ensuring completed products are properly prepared, inspected, staged, and loaded for shipment while maintaining a safe, efficient, and organized yard environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate effectively with production, quality control, logistics providers, and customers to ensure on-time deliveries and high-quality standards. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesShipping Preparation Coordinate final preparation of finished products prior to shipment. Verify product completion against work orders, customer specifications, and shipping requirements. Ensure all equipment, parts, and materials are properly cleaned, labeled, protected, and packaged for transport. Review shipping documentation for accuracy and completeness. Conduct final visual inspections before shipment release. Yard Operations Supervise daily yard activities and personnel. Maintain organization and efficient use of yard space. Coordinate movement, storage, and staging of finished goods, raw materials, and customer-owned equipment. Ensure proper equipment placement and inventory control. Monitor yard conditions and maintain housekeeping standards. Loading and Logistics Coordination Schedule and coordinate outgoing shipments with transportation providers. Direct safe loading and unloading operations. Verify load securement complies with company and transportation requirements. Ensure shipment schedules are met and communicate any delays proactively. Coordinate with production teams to prioritize shipment needs. Safety and Compliance Enforce all company safety policies and procedures. Conduct routine safety inspections of yard and shipping areas. Ensure personnel are properly trained on equipment operation and safe material handling practices. Maintain compliance with OSHA and company safety standards. Investigate and document incidents, near misses, and corrective actions. Leadership and Team Development Supervise and support ship prep and yard personnel. Assign daily tasks and monitor work performance. Train employees on company procedures and operational standards. Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. Participate in performance evaluations and employee development initiatives. QualificationsRequired High school diploma or GED. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in shipping, logistics, manufacturing, warehousing, or yard operations. Minimum 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience. Experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office. Preferred Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or oilfield equipment industries. Knowledge of shipping regulations and transportation logistics. OSHA safety training or certification. Valid CDL or experience with oversized load coordination. Physical Requirements Frequently lift and move materials up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and work outdoors for extended periods. Ability to work in varying weather conditions.
